Top 5 Recommendations For Achieving (And Maintaining) A Healthy Libido!

Why not put yourself on the road leading to a more satisfying sex life?  It’s NEVER too late to put the fun back into living – and into your relationship.

Here are my Top 5 Recommendations for Achieving (and maintaining) a healthy libido:

1. Put yourself first.

Enjoy your life more!  Give priority to those things that are most enjoyable and most important in your life.  Make a list of all of the stressful things in your life… everything!  Then, go through the list and evaluate which activities bring you enjoyment, which you do to survive, and which you may be doing solely out of obligation/guilt.  Make a conscious decision to dutifully eliminate the things from your life that stress you out.

2. Make time to exercise.

Make time for physical activity at least 30 minutes a day, three to four times a week.  You don’t always have to take a Pilates or Spin class.  Try taking a brisk walk in the park every now and then – breathe in the fresh air, marvel at the landscape, observe the children delighting in the swings on the playground.  Don’t forget that it’s just as important to “exercise” your mind through relaxing activities – yoga, meditation, writing in your journal or simply petting your cat/dog.

3. Improve your sleeping habits.

If you always seem tired, it’s time to make an honest evaluation of your sleeping habits.  You may not be getting the quantity and/or quality of rest that you need.  Some people need only five or six hours per night, but others require a full eight hours or more.  Listen to what your body is telling you.  Giving yourself adequate sleep refuels your body as well as your mind.

4. Connect with others.

Spend more time with family and friends.  Recent polls conducted by General Nutrition Centers show that more than 50% of Americans yearn to spend more time with their loved ones.  Pick up the phone instead of sending an email, make definite plans to meet up with a friend or group of friends for an evening, or take your family out to an event.

5. Pay attention to what you put into your body.

Your body is your palace – what you put into it reflects on you.  Always eat breakfast in the morning.  Eat five to six small, nutritious meals throughout the day rather than three large ones.  This will keep your glucose levels stable throughout the day, improving brain function and maintaining energy.  Avoid consuming too much caffeine and sugar.  Educate yourself on proper nutrition and share your knowledge with your loved ones.

When you empower yourself to take control of your health, you are taking the reins in controlling your happiness.   Making the choice to be happy and healthy sexually is within your reach!  Here’s to the new and improved you!
